1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you use FanQuest:
- Account information: email address, password (hashed), and name (optional)
- Preferences: performers you follow, departure airports
- Usage data: pages viewed, deals clicked, scans initiated
- Payment information: processed securely by Stripe — we do not store credit card numbers
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Scan for deals based on your followed performers and departure airports
- Send price change notifications for watched deals
- Generate personalized trip guides using AI (Google Gemini)
- Process subscription payments via Stripe
- Improve the Service through anonymized usage analytics
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Stripe: for payment processing
- Google (Gemini AI): to generate trip narratives — event details are sent but not your personal information
- Third-party ticket/travel sites: when you click through to book, those sites may collect data under their own privacy policies
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway (US-based cloud infrastructure). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Sessions are encrypted. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.
5. Price and Deal Data
FanQuest collects pricing data from publicly available sources including ticket marketplaces, flight search engines, and hotel booking platforms. This data is used to display deals and track price changes. Historical pricing data is retained to power price trend features.
6. Cookies
We use two of our own (first-party) cookies:
- connect.sid — keeps you logged in.
- fq_vid — a random identifier that lets us count visits properly, so we can tell whether one person viewed three pages or three people viewed one page each. It contains no personal information, is never shared with anyone else, and is not used to track you across other websites. It lasts one year.
- fq_internal — set only on our own devices, so our testing is excluded from our traffic figures. You will not receive this cookie as a visitor.
We also use a small number of third-party cookies for analytics and advertising measurement:
- Google Analytics — to understand how people use the site (pages viewed, sign-ups) so we can improve it.
- Reddit Pixel — when we run ads on Reddit, this tells us whether an ad led to a sign-up. It is not used to build advertising profiles about you on FanQuest.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run third-party advertisements on FanQuest.
7. Your Rights
You can:
- Access your data through your account dashboard and settings
- Update your email, password, and preferences at any time
- Delete your account by contacting support — this permanently removes all your data
- Export your deal data from the admin panel (if applicable)
8. Data Retention
Account data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymized usage analytics may be retained indefinitely.
9. Children's Privacy
FanQuest is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.
